Edeet is the author of an acclaimed trilogy on the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. Ten Thousand Lovers was translated into several languages and was nominated for the Governor General’s Award. Look For Me won the Hugh MacLennan Prize, and A Wall of Light was a finalist for the Giller Award and the Regional Commonwealth Prize, and won the I. J. Segal Award.
Edeet’s writing for young readers has garnered numerous honours; her YA novel Held was nominated for the CLA Young Adult Book of the Year, the Saskatchewan Willow Award and the Arthur Ellis Crime Award, and her critically acclaimed YA novel The Saver was adapted for film by Wiebke von Carolsfeld. Her most recent books for young readers are the award-winning A Boy Is Not a Bird and its sequel, A Boy Is Not a Ghost, which was a Governor General's Award finalist.
Edeet holds a PhD from McGill University and taught for twenty years at McGill, Concordia University and John Abbott College. Her name is pronounced ee-DEET (not "edit").
